Meet our founder.

The story of Eywa begins with Matthew Lawlor — a craftsman driven by a love for working with his hands and the satisfaction of bringing ideas to life through design and detail. With an extensive background in carpentry and residential development, Matthew’s journey has always been guided by a passion for creating spaces that are both functional and deeply meaningful.


Starting out on the tools in 2017, Matthew spent years mastering the art of timber construction and residential building before moving into full home renovations — a stage that allowed his creativity and attention to detail to truly flourish. Over time, this experience led to a new vision: to create homes that reflect individuality and freedom, without being limited by conventional building systems.

Finding freedom in tiny spaces.

That vision came to life through tiny homes — a space where craftsmanship and creativity meet in the most personal way. Through Eywa, Matthew continues to bring that vision forward, crafting beautiful, intentional spaces that reflect the uniqueness of every client and the care that goes into every build.


Beyond the workshop, Matthew is a family man and proud father of two, drawing daily inspiration from his family and the life he’s built around them. For him, the heart of Eywa has always been simple — creating spaces built not just with skill, but with purpose, integrity, and love.
